Qualsafe Level 5 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (FREUC5)

The QA Level 5 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (RQF) has been specifically designed for those looking to further develop their career within the pre-hospital care sector.

Fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level F, this qualification provides learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to manage a range of Prehospital emergency situations, such as: acute conditions, life-threatening infections, end of life care, childbirth and more.

The QA L5 FREUC is 3 weeks classroom based in duration delivered in 1 week blocks over 3 months. Learners will then need to complete 750 hours in clinical practice (of which the majority must be in a frontline ambulance environment) whilst completing their practice assessment document (PAD).

The learner has 24 months from their first taught day to complete all elements of their L5 FREUC.

Successful learners may be eligible to gain employment as an Ambulance Technician depending on local policy and procedures.
